daily_links_1Daily Links for Wednesday, November 30,  2016:

How a Grad Student Found Spyware That Could Control Anybody’s iPhone From Anywhere In The World (Vanity Fair) This may be a bit TL;DR for some, but it is fascinating case study on malware and cyber security issues.

Netflix for Android now lets you download videos to watch offline (9 to 5 Google) This is huge!  Related: How to watch Netflix, Hulu, and other streaming services offline with PlayOn Cloud (from PC World).

Spotify is using billboards to call users out on their questionable listening habits (The Next Web) Funny? Yes. But the privacy concern outweigh that. And it skates dangerously close to shaming people for their music choices.

There’s E Ink everything now, even wallets (The Verge) Um… I am kind of scratching my head at this one. I get the premise, but black and white e-ink? Seriously?

Twitter now ranks your conversations based on who replies (Engadget) Why won’t they just leave Twitter alone?

Yes, the U.K. now has a law to log web users’ browsing behavior, hack devices and limit encryption (Techcrunch) This Investigatory Powers law is pretty scary, especially because of how many people can access the information without a warrant.

Many large promotions have discount pricing that is set by the publisher. This usually means that titles can be found at a discount price across most platforms (with iTunes sometimes being the exception). If you have a favorite retailer you like to patronize, check the title on that website. There is a good chance that they will be matching the sale price.)

Daily Links are interesting links I discover as I go about my online day. The frequency and number of links posted depend upon the daily news. I also post other, different links of interest on Twitter, Facebook, and on the Google Plus eBook Evangelist Page.
