Previously, Amazon would allow you to download a second upcoming title for only $1.99. While that offer is no longer available, if you are a Kindle Unlimited subscriber, all of these books will be available to read for free when they are released on May 1, 2017 as part of your Kindle Unlimited subscription.
Prime members can also sign up to receive a monthly e-mail announcing new Kindle First picks.
Wow! As if that last list wasn’t enough, I found more books on sale! I am not sure whether it is a sale or a price slash, but right now, over 8000 Harlequin titles are available for just $1.99 each! That’s right, I said eight thousand! A quick browse shows a wide variety: Lines like Historicals, Intrigue, Harlequin Presents, Treasures, Blaze and more. There are also some of the vintage Harlequin titles included as well. There seems to be a bit of everything from vintage to paranormal, making this is a GREAT DEAL for romance readers! I have no idea how long these prices will last.
Modern Library is currently having a sale on e-books on Amazon. There are over 350 titles on sale for only $2.99 each. I am not sure how long the lasts, so you may want to act quickly on these. There are lots of history, philosophy and literature titles. You can see the list here.
I am going in to start going through the list. If you don’t hear from me again, send help! This is the kind of sale a Liberal Arts major like me just can’t resist. 🙂
All those new e-readers and tablets usually mean that people are looking for content to fill them with. While I don’t generally post book sales, some days there are prices and titles that are too good not to mention. Today is one of those days.
Amazon has several in their Daily Deals today. First, they are offering over 80 romance titles from Harlequin and Carina Press. For today only, these are $1.99 or less. Available titles include authors like Diana Palmer, Lauren Dane, Brenda Novak, Lynne Graham and B.J. Daniels.
For the Inspirational Daily Deal, there are over 120 books from Jack Canfield’s Chicken Soup for the Soul series. For today only, these are $1.99 or less at both Amazon and Barnes and Noble. These books contain inspirational true stories that are intended to inspire, comfort and motivate.
The Barnes and Noble Nook Find of the Day is Nora Roberts A Will and a Way for $1.99. And, for a limited time, there is also a nice selection of Disney books (including Frozen) for $3.99 or less.
Kobo’s holiday sale is offering up to 70% off selected e-books and magazines. The Kobo sale offer is valid until January 5, 2015. 🙂
If you are an iBooks fan, Apple has you covered, too. There is a whole list of Bestsellers for $3.99 or less.
With only a few more online shopping days left until Christmas, Amazon is letting everyone know with prominent product placement and low, low prices that they REALLY, REALLY want you to buy Kindle and Fire devices this holiday season.
And a couple of e-book finds of the day from my TBR list in the Daily Deals: one of John Brunner’s fascinating SF titles, The Shockwave Rider, and, Midsummer Moon, a humoruous romance by Laura Kinsale (one with a hedgehog, no less!).
Daily Links are interesting links I discover as I go about my online day. The frequency and number of links posted depend upon the daily news.
Monday, July 14, 2014 (Bastille Day) is the first digital book day, according to DigitalBookDay.com. It is intended to be a “day to celebrate readers, stories, and the authors who create them.” The site is offering links to over 400 free books on hosted various sites. There is a wide range of genres represented: historical, romance, science-fiction, fantasy, mystery, non-fiction, thrillers, and young adult. Represented are books from authors from around the world, including C.J. Lyons, Bob Mayer, Linda Welch and many, many more.
PLEASE NOTE: The book links will not be live until July 14, 2014. Without being able to click through, it was not clear to me what format the free books are being offered in (mobi, epub or PDF).
There is also a link on the site to sign up to be notified of future free digital book events.
Update: The Digital Book Day site seems to be down. I am getting a database connection error.
Update 2: Evidently, the server crashed. There is a post here on Google plus where authors have been invited to post links to their free books. Authors are welcome to post links to their free books below in the comments.
Today only, there are 40 Kindle e-books from HarperCollins on sale for only $1.99 each. There’s a nice variety in the selections.
Included in the available titles are two of my personal childhood favorites: Alas, Babylon, a post-apocalyptic thriller by Pat Frank and Betty Smith’s poignant coming of age story, A Tree Grows in Brooklyn. (And, yes, I had eclectic tastes!) Both of these books from the 1950s are now considered classics.
